How Long Does Dent Repair Take? Real Timelines by Damage Type

A typical minor door ding — the most common repair we do — is a single-visit job, from the time the car is in position to the final check under the light board. We quote the time along with the price, because the only honest estimate is one made after seeing the dent.

Creases and larger dents take substantially longer. A crease locks tension along its full length and has to be released inch by inch, so a long crease on a body line is a different order of work from a round ding. Large dents scale the same way: more displaced metal means more pushes, and difficult access or an aluminum panel adds to it again.

Hail is the big one. A lightly hailed car with a few dozen dents might be finished in a day; a heavily hit vehicle with hundreds of dents across the roof, hood, and deck lid can take several days of full-time work.
