Cadillac's design identity was built on the Art & Science language — sharp, chiseled creases and hard edges that most other luxury brands soften. Those edges are what make a Cadillac look like a Cadillac, and they're also what make dent repair on one a genuine test of skill. A dent that lands on or near a stamped crease has to be repaired so the edge stays razor-straight, because any waviness in that line is visible the length of the panel.

We've done paintless dent repair on Cadillacs since 2001, from CTS sedans in the Art & Science era through today's CT5, Escalade, and Lyriq. Travis performs every repair personally, at our Mint Hill shop or mobile anywhere in greater Charlotte, and the factory finish stays untouched either way.

Sharp Creases Demand Crease-Repair Skill

Most dents are round; Cadillac's body lines are not. When a door ding or cart strike lands across one of those hard stamped edges, the metal folds along the crease and the repair becomes an exercise in rebuilding a factory line by hand. This is crease dent repair at its most demanding: the technician works the low metal up in narrow passes, checking the edge against reflected light constantly, because an edge restored 95 percent of the way still reads as damage to the eye.

This is where experience separates outcomes. A rushed crease repair leaves a soft, slightly rounded line where the factory stamped a sharp one. We'd rather take the extra time — or tell you honestly when a crease is too sharp and stretched for PDR to fully restore, which occasionally happens with deep impacts directly on an edge. Honesty about that limit is part of the job.

Escalades: Big Panels, Big Targets

The Escalade is the Cadillac we see most in Charlotte, and its sheer size shapes its damage patterns. Long, tall doors and broad quarter panels present a lot of surface to neighboring car doors and shopping carts, and the vehicle's width means it often sits closer to the next parking space than a sedan would. The result is a steady stream of door dings and body-side dents, most of them ideal PDR candidates.

Large panels also show hail badly — a storm that leaves a compact car with a dozen dings can leave an Escalade hood and roof with several dozen. Hail damage repair on an Escalade is routine work for us and is typically handled through comprehensive insurance, with PDR preserving the factory panels and paint.

One material note: Cadillac has used mixed construction on some models — the CT6, for example, used aluminum for most of its outer panels, and several recent Cadillacs use aluminum hoods. Aluminum behaves differently under PDR than steel, so we confirm the panel material before quoting. If you're curious why that matters, our aluminum dent repair page explains it.

Cadillac Dent Repair FAQs

Can PDR restore a dent on one of Cadillac's sharp body creases?

Usually, yes — but it's the most demanding repair we do on these cars. The stamped edge has to be rebuilt straight and sharp, not just pushed roughly back. Deep impacts directly on an edge occasionally stretch the metal beyond what PDR can fully restore, and we'll tell you that up front if it's the case.

How much does Escalade dent repair cost?

Minor door dings typically start around $125–$150. Escalade panels are large, so bigger dents and hail damage price by extent and location. Text a photo to 704-713-4663 for an exact free estimate — it takes about a minute and costs nothing.

Are Cadillac panels steel or aluminum?

Most are steel, which responds well to PDR, but Cadillac has used aluminum on some models — the CT6 used aluminum for most of its outer panels, and several recent models have aluminum hoods. We identify the material before we quote, because aluminum requires different technique and tooling.

Will PDR keep my Escalade's factory paint intact?

Yes — that's the entire point of the method. The dent is worked out from behind the panel, so the factory paint and corrosion protection are never sanded, filled, or resprayed. That matters at trade-in, where a paint-depth gauge reveals any repainted panel instantly.
